Les collants Cygnes sont fabriqués en France

Why wear tights made in France?

The cheapest tights on the market are mostly made in Asian countries; many tights are also produced in Europe, in countries like Italy or Poland.

But have you ever heard of tights that are 100% “made in France” ? Probably not...

This is the observation we made when we created Cygnes, the first brand of ultra-resistant tights, made in France.

Why did we want to produce our tights in France at all costs? Quite simply, for all the reasons we've outlined in this article!

Made in France

“Made in France” for superior quality tights.

Buying tights made in France often means buying durable, high-quality products . Higher production costs allow for better quality than tights made in countries with lower production costs.

Cygnes tights are knitted and made partly by hand with more than 9 manufacturing steps, in a French workshop that has been expert in tights for over 70 years. They are made from a high-quality yarn, giving them very important resistant properties. 💎

Strict environmental and social standards

French manufacturers must comply with some of the strictest environmental and social standards in the world. Wearing tights produced in France means wearing a product that complies with a whole host of regulations concerning industries, their processes, and the final quality of the product. It also means wearing a product made with respect for working conditions and human rights, excluding any form of forced child labor, with a minimum wage and occupational health. ✔️

Made in France for production close to home

Buying products made in France means not having to have them delivered from the other side of the world, and therefore significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions linked to transport. Knowing that the transport sector generates the most emissions of this type, the planet will thank you (and so will we). 🌎

Supporting French industry and its know-how...

Buying products made in France also means contributing to French reindustrialization . Since the 1970s, the share of manufacturing in GDP has been halved, leading to reduced working hours, closures of workshops and factories, and therefore job losses. This is largely due to the relocation of production to more competitive foreign countries. However, as you know, industrialization is crucial for a country and its economy.

The number of companies willing to invest in local or national production can only increase based on our purchasing behavior. By wearing tights made in France, you are therefore supporting the country's industry and economy , as well as know-how passed down from generation to generation. (Just that!)

At Cygnes, we are proud to contribute to preserving the know-how of one of the last French hosiery factories through the production of our tights. ❤️

...But also jobs

By helping to maintain French industry and its know-how, you participate in the creation of jobs in the country by supporting local businesses and workers, sometimes located very close to your home.

At Cygnes , no fewer than 20 jobs are supported and 3 factories are involved in the production of our tights.
